There was once a time when taking your vehicle in for service or purchasing a new one meant receiving genuine support throughout the transaction, leaving you confident that you were treated fairly. Fast forward about 60 years, and the landscape has changed—customer satisfaction now often takes a back seat to profit margins.

Today, many automotive businesses inflate labor and parts costs to fund expansion, enforce mandatory minimum work order averages, and implement commission-based pay structures, all of which prioritize revenue over customer care. Unfortunately, customer satisfaction is rarely a calculated metric. When it is mentioned, it often amounts to little more than urging customer service representatives to secure positive survey results, which are used solely to boost online visibility and attract more customers. In essence, customers are frequently overcharged to maximize profits, often to finance the next business opening, perpetuating a cycle of exploitation.

This is where IQ Auto Solutions steps in. Having worked as employees in automotive repair shops and sales environments for decades, we have witnessed firsthand how unfair pricing and unnecessary services dominate the industry. In our experience, roughly 90% or more of products and services sold at automotive facilities are priced far beyond their reasonable value. Even worse, many of these add-ons bring no real benefit to the customer or are marked up excessively simply because customers lack the knowledge to challenge the costs.

The automotive market has become highly overpriced and clouded with new technologies and procedures that can be daunting for the average consumer. As experts with years of experience, we can no longer stand by and watch hardworking individuals continue to be taken advantage of. In many service centers and sales floors, employees—who are often good, hardworking individuals—face immense pressure to meet aggressive sales targets and minimum flat-rate flagged hour requirements. This environment encourages unnecessary upselling just to make a living wage. Those who fail to meet these metrics risk losing their jobs. It’s an unfair system for both customers and employees.
